Building Homes or Extensions/Extending a porch

Question
My porch is 3 ft wide and 20 ft long, I would like to take it our another 3 ft without removing the existing porch.  Is this a job for an expert or can DIY'ers do it.

Answer
Hi Leslie, this is a tricky question.  If you have basic skills when it comes to concrete and carpentry then yes you can do it!  If you don't know what end of the saw to use then it may be a challenge. You don't say what the porch is made out of. Is it concrete?  Or is it wood on a crawl space? Either way will require basic knowledge.  I hope this information helps please feel free to write again regarding this or other matters, sincerely bruce e johnson..bejohnsonconsulting.com
