I want to add a master bath on to the master bedroom the bedroom is 13'6"x 26 I plan to go out to add the master bath When I built I put in only a 6'x8'7" bathroom. Now 20 plus years later I am ready to do it up right. But now to do it right this time? the house is about 22oo sq ft 1 1/2 story in the country. No neighbor. I would like to have heated floors, maybe a fire place propane is there. big shower for two and a big tub with jets. I have a bad back and whiplash. Also I need to add that walk-in closet We have a small one now 6'8"x 6'2". Help please. No problems with an addition we own 14 acres here.

This sounds like a great project.  The heated floors are a great idea for a ceramic floor.  Be aware that the two most expensive rooms to remodel are kitchens and bathrooms.  Do you have a local builder or other design professional with whom to work?  This is the type of job that a good design/build contractor would enjoy.  If you have someone that you like or is recommended, ask them what they would charge to come for an initial scope of work and preliminary cost study.

As long as you understand that there is a great deal of mess and time involved with a project of this size and you have a builder that you trust it can be a good experience.  Make sure to have drawings and written specifications to prevent some of the common pitfalls and disputes on jobs such as this.
