Building Homes or Extensions/unheated bath remodel

Question
I have an unheated 1940's cabin, stud wall construction. I need to replace the tile style beaver board in the bath. I have obvious water damage (as beaver board is not the best choice for a tub surround) and will be replacing the sub floor. As this is an unheated, 3-season cabin, would you recommend tile or another surface for the shower surround?

Answer
Hi Adam, anything but beaverboard..how's that for an answer? A fiberglass surround would be the best if you want something fast and easy..cement board  with ceramic tile would be nicer looking but will take more effort and a little more expertise on the install..I wouldn't recommend anything else..sincerely Bruce Johnson
