main thing is i have people telling me it can be done an some telling me no.
also i was told that if i put the two feet a part that the rain will leak inside of the the two homes all i would like to do is save as much money as i can an connect the two homes to make it one maybe with a arch way from one livingroom to the other if you can help i would be open to any ideas

Answer
Hi jennifer, sure you can connect two mobiles together as long as your local building department says it's okay and approves the method of attachment and set-up.  A short breezeway between the two would be the cheapest and easiest.  Like you mentioned a two foot separation would work, you would need sides obviously, a floor and a roof.  The floor can be attached to both mobile floor joist systems and the walls built on the connecting floor.  The roof shouldn't be too difficult if it is sealed properly with a little pitch on it so that water will drain away from it.  I hope this information helps, please feel free to write again regarding this or other matters, sincerely bruce e johnson..bejohnsonconsulting.com
