Building Homes or Extensions/Sealing a concrete tile roof

Question
Concrete tiles on my roof are about 30 years old and in good condition. Can I seal them effectively using a transparent sealant such as Johnstone's Transparent Water Seal? Is this a worthwhile exercise as I don't really want to change the colour?

Answer
Angus

If your tiles are in good condition then leave them.
You may ask why, well if you seal them they wont breath as they are meant to and sealant will hold in any airborn impurities that has accumulated on your tiles over the years.
The sealant will let the rain run of quicker but you will have to clean them first properly or youll be applying over contaminents and therefore an expense and exercise for nothing.Normally with these types of sealant there is no longevity and if material is decaying it will continue decaying within or behind the sealant.
If the tiles are in good condition as you say then I would let them continue doing the work they were meant to do.
