I have huge available space in the attic of a 2 storey house.  I am wondering if I can create this area as living space....but I don't know what things to look for to be sure that it would be structurally sound to do so.  Can you help me?

Hi Ann,

Your attic should be easy to convert but will need work. The ceiling will need upgraded to floor specs and the roof supports may need moved higher and a knee wall built around as well as furring the rafters for insulation and venting. I would suggest getting an architect to do up some plans so the job is done properly and adds to the value of your home.
