Building Homes or Extensions/Closing a carport

Question
We have a carpot in our house and I want to close it to convert it into a room.  What do I need to do? Do I need a Permit?  I live in Orlando, Fl

Answer
Hi Alan,
I would imagine you'd need a permit. Most towns/cities are requiring it now.
Assuming you have a good roof, you will only need a good wall system, one that excludes insects, and a siding to match the existing building.
Are you going to do this yourself? Or hire a builder?
A builder would probably secure the permitting for you...
Mail me if you'd like more info....
