Building Homes or Extensions/Garage Convertion to a Bedroom

Question
I had the garage converted to a utility room ages ago and then my son started using it as a bedroom.  The problem is that although there is central heating in there it's very very very cold and as it needs redecorating I was wondering what I can do to get it more insulating.  Its got access from out hallway.

Thank you

Answer
Hi Katrina,

Best way to achieve insulation would be to build a timber stud wall and ceiling on the inside face of the garage and insert insulation 50-100mm compacted between studs and lined over with plasterboard to finish. This will also give it required fire protection rating.
