Building Homes or Extensions/building in the winter

Question
We are about to finalizing the plans for an extension on our home.  The extension will push out the back of our home 20 x 18.  The extension will have a full basement with poured concrete walls. My concern is that the weather is getting cold (30's at night) and the snow is not far off.  Is it wise to pour concrete in the cold weather?  Should we tell the builder we want to wait till spring?

Answer
Hi Joanne,

Building in the spring would be ideal, however, the concrete has additives for colder weather. I build homes all year round but would prefer not build my own in the winter.
Downside is that costs may be higher in the spring.

Thanks,
Michael.
