Building Homes or Extensions/jalousie windows

Question
I have an attached porch that has eight large jalousie windows and I'm looking for a way to winterize them and save money on heat this winter.  In the past, I've removed the screens and covered them with plastic and replaced them over the glass. Short of replacing the windows, there's got to be a better way.  Do you have any suggestions? Thank you.

Answer
Hi Chantel,
I personally would replace them. But It's obvious you'd
rather not do that.
There are glass companies that will make up "storm panel" either of glass or plexiglass that have a vinyl or aluminum trim around them.
That is the way to go...usually installed with a small weather strip around the edge.
Best of luck,

Dave
