Building Homes or Extensions/new building panels

Question
Have you used  the new building panels called AzTex...or A tec.....saw a boat that used it  and would like to try it.

Answer
I assume you are talking about Azek PVC trim material.  I have used it as trim boards, but not ever as sheet goods installed as exterior panels.  It is relatively expensive, but a good choice for trim.  It would still require adequate nailing and that will require painting.  It is plastic and needs to be kept flat or it will warp to the shape it rests on in the heat.  It holds paint well, but we had been hoping to use it without having to paint - that was not our experience.  Once adequately nailed it is better about rot, twist, splitting, and the other problems inherent in wood trim.  It is recommended to use stainless or galvanized fasteners.  Here is their web site:
