Question
I just bought my first home witch was built in 1923 I am trying to redecorate but ran in to some problems. The wall have the "old concrete drywall" so when i try to hammer a nail into it my hammer just bounces back and the nail leaves a hole in the wall but won't stay in the wall I'm also trying to staple up light fabric on the ceiling and the staples won't stay in the walls either Help any suggestions???

Answer
You are talking about plaster walls and ceilings.  They are great at deadening sound and are, of course, authentic looking, but they can be tricky for hanging things.  There are many tricks; read this webpage for many of them:  http://ask.metafilter.com/17085/Hanging-pictures-on-old-plaster-walls
For what it's worth, I use Ook brand hangers.  Good luck.
