Question
QUESTION: I have a modified queen truss ( multi panel ) I looked this truss type up online so i hope i have it right. they span 35'and are 2' apart for 40'. 2x4 trusses on block walls. Is it possible to beef these trusses up to make a room in attic truss? and for a floor to support weight?

ANSWER: Hi Eric,
I'm not sure what you mean by "modified" queen truss.
The queen trusses I'm familiar with are designed for a
useable attic area. Could you give me a bit more info?
perhaps the website where you found your truss?
Thanks   Dave

also, what is the size of the bottom chord??

QUESTION: http://www.maplevalleytruss.com/config.htm it is listed here as a modified queen truss, the bottom of the truss is a 2x4 all the way acroos

Answer
Hi again Eric,
If you have enough headroom to have useable space...sure.
You need to sister all your bottom chords with either glue lams or micro lams...the entire span (or bearing to bearing) add vertical support where your new walls will be
(BEFORE removing existing webbing) and everything must be fastened securely.
Also, you may want to add vertical support from any walls below thru to top chords.

If there are support walls below, you could use them to carry your new floor joists. your floor joists size will depend on load and spacing. the local lumber yard will give you a chart.
Good luck,
Dave
