Building Homes or Extensions/repair of jalousie windows

Question
I have a sunporch that is part of the home with 23 feet of jalousie windows on 1 wall - 5 sets. 3 of the cranks have broken or come apart and one of the windows is now popped open and won't close. Is there a way of repairing the cranks or is this a total lost cause? Thanks!

Answer
Hi Linda,
I have found that "mobile home" suppliy stores sometimes have repair parts for these windows. Take on of the cranks with you..and see if you can find a brand name on the units...
However, I would replace them with a new vinyl replacement window...they are made to order and a quite good these days...
Good luck,
Dave
