Question
I have some pretty large babanna trees in my yard in Oklahoma, this is their first year out side the bulbs are about 3 feet around, I'm just not sure if they will make it through the winter.  So my question is how should I prepare them for winter with out digging them up and bringing them inside?

Answer
Jack,
Wow! I know practically zilch about Bananna trees.I know we cannot grow them here in my zone 6,western Ky. area. They are tropical and I don't deal a lot with tropicals.I know though that Oklahoma winters will be a certain death for them however. I don't want to steer you in the wrong direction so I believe it is best for you to find more info about them. Go to www.google.com or www.ask.com and type in "Bananna tree care of" or "Bananna tree culture".That way I know for a fact that you will find the right path.
I certainly did not know that Bananna trees grew from bulbs, especially 3 feet in circumference! I learned at least that today.I sure hope you can keep them alive.Good luck to you!
