Question
I must dig up a large quanity of tulip and daffodil bulbs now,  as I am having trees and the stumps removed from the area.  The leaves are still green. What do I do with all the bulbs? Should I replant as soon as possible or some how keep the bulbs until fall

Answer
Lois,

Since you do not have much of a choice, dig them and replant.  Clip about a third of the foliage back.  I do not recommend cutting daffodil foliage, but since you are digging them and disturbing the root system clipping the foliage back will help ease stress.

Find a spot a spot in the yard, plant and enjoy next spring.

Good luck in the garden,

Gary
