Bulbs/glads
Expert: Eric Barninger - 8/3/2007
QuestionQUESTION: I have Glads planted at several locations in my yard. I live in south central pa. They have done well for 10-12 years, but this year almost all the flowers turned brown before they even opened, some didn't open, the ones that did open had brown edges on them. What happened and how can I fix the problem? Please help! Thank you!
ANSWER: Hi James
What you need to do is split your corms.............what I mean is to dig up your bulbs and split them at or around the center. Now alot of people will tell you that this method is wrong.......BUT trust me I have yet to have mine die afterwords....in fact they flower moer that everbefore

QUESTION: Thanks for the advice Eric. But this also happen to new bulbs I planted this year.I suspect some kind of soil or desease problem, but I'm not sure what or what to do.
Answerwell ....It would have helped if you might have told me that too lol............get yourself some fungal spray.........your home and garden center will know what you need and how often to apply, also you kneed to check your soil(ph level) and make sure your soil is up to par...........
