Bulbs/iris

Question
Hi - I plan to move later this year and I want to take several of my iris with me.  How long can they be out of the ground before replanting?  Or do I have to "pot" them up and plant in a garden later?  I live in WA state

Answer
Hi Arlene

It depends on how long you plan on having them out of the ground. If it is for a few days it's fine, but if any longer, those plants will need water and you can't forget about feeding them as well. So to be safe I would pot them up because, we all know how things can happen, it just would be better in the long run

thanks for the question
