Bulbs/Can I keep unplanted tulips another year?

Question
Hi:

I have about 100 tulip bulbs that never got planted.  I had some unexpected and unplanned surgery and will not be able to do any more digging this year.  Can I store these until next fall?  If so, where and how?  Thank you.

Answer
Lisa,
Sure you can store them. Make sure it is a cool dark place like a cellar or unheated garage or room that doesn't get heated in the winter. Also make sure they are completely dry otherwise mold sets in and can ruin the bulbs.
I sometimes use sawdust or shredded newspaper clippings. You can also use those little styrofoam peanuts that come in packages. Then just plant them next year sometime in Nov. or Dec or before the ground freezes in your area.
