Question
We live in eastern Virginia Tidewater regan of Zone 7 when would be the best time to plant bulbs for spring next year?

Answer
Ralph,
Are you able to grow bulbs that need a winter cold period(32% or below) of at least 6 weeks? If your winters are mild you will have to "winterize " them in the fridge for at least 6 weeks. Some, like Paperwhites and Amaryllis do not require the cold period. let me know if this is the case?I'm in zone 6 and have no problem with that cold period, but I don't know about your particular climate and if you have an extended winter period that spring bulbs need in order to bloom in Spring.
