Question
will it hurt to plant spring flowering bulbs in august instead of waiting until sept. or oct.  I live in zone 5

Answer
Planting this early risks a break in dormancy, Laurie.  All good things come to those who wait.  You don't want to be one of those people who writes the question in October about their 'daffodils are coming up what can I do?'  Answer: Nothing!

Any particular reason you're in such a rush for this?  Where do you even get bulbs this early in the year to plant?
