Question
Can I dig up my bulbs and store them in the frig through winter, then in spring replant them?

Answer
Barbara,
I could have sworn that I had already answered this question. So sorry if I have not! Yes you can dig up some bulbs and store them,BUT it all depends on what type you are referring to. Spring blooming bulbs like Daffodils,Tulips and Hyacinths should NOT be dug up because they all require a cold period of at least 8 weeks in order to produce blooms. Therefore there is no reason to dig them up and store them.If you are referiing to tender bulbs(in colder zones from 3 to 5)that bloom in summer  such as Gladiolas,Tuberose Begonias,Cannas,Dahlias, you can dig them up and store them in a dry, cool environment until spring(mid to late)then replant them. Hope this is helpful. If you need more info on what type bulbs that will withstand cold temps outdoors here are a few places to go and look for more info:
