Question
a friend said I should automatically get the soft pallet surgery on my English bulldog to help him breath better. do you agree? if so, should I get this done the same time my dog is put to sleep when neuturing him? my dog is 6 months old and had to use benadryl before giving his puppy shots, due to a little allergic reaction..swelling a little. also cannot take flea medication "Comfortis" (oral med) makes him very ill...for 3 weeks bad side affects.

Valerie - Many soft palates do not need surgery.  Get a second opinion if you feel this is something that needs to be done.
Also, make sure you do all the pre-surgery blood work to make sure his liver can filter out the Anesthesia...
