Question
my english bulldog is 4 months old.  the vet said he had guardia (parasite) he took the medicine but isnt getting any better.  He now has coughing fits that make him throw up and diaherra (which is on and off- not a daily thing).  He is eating and drinking normal and seems happy but cough isnt getting better, Not sure what i should do? we keep going back to the vet.

Ok, Bulldog with cough and Guardia - yes, this is common - Don't worry I can help you two!!!
Continue with the medications for the Guardia -  It takes time but should go away in 21 days or less.  This bacteria / Guardia is very common so don't worry...

Next, the cough may be " kennel cough " and this if viral...NO cure for this - JUST time and some good cough medicines.. Here is one you can get at the local store:


Product -  This is a strip you have him eat: melts in the mouth:

Make sure you get this one: The cough one-
DON't GET the Cough and Cold.... ( that one contains Tylenol)
NO Tylenol for dogs or cats...OK

Triaminic Thin StripsŪ Long Acting Cough
Active Ingredients (in each strip)
Dextromethorphan 5.5 mg (equivalent to 7.5 mg Dextromethorphan HBr)
Purpose: Cough suppressant
Uses
temporarily relieves cough due to minor throat and bronchial irritation as may occur with a cold

give him one THIN Strip of the Triaminic 2 x per day - in the am and just before bed time.

Make sure you add some Canned Pure Pumpkin to his diet - 2 tablespoons per day - will help to get rid of any LOOSE POOPs related to the Guardia..
