Question
QUESTION: Hello, I have a 11 months english bulldog, about a month ago I switch him to another brand of dog food.  Lately has been licking the floor a lot, do you think it´s because of the new food? is he not drinking enough water? or could it be something else??

Thank you.

ANSWER: Hi Francisco: Well, this is odd.  Not sure:  Can you tell me what food you are feeding.  ( brand and amount)-
Also, let me know your dog's exercise routine?
I would like to help, just need more info...OK?

Thanks.

QUESTION: Hello Marie.

I´m feeding him with Pedigree, about 2 cups each time, 2 times a day.  He really doesn´t make too much exercise, he´s just around the house all day, and about 3 days a week he gets a walk for his training for about an hour.

Hope this helps.

Thanks.

ANSWER: OK,
He may just not get enough exercise:
Dogs that have been stressed or that are excessively bored seem to develop obsessive disorders at times.  He just may have developed a habit like licking the floor..  They can lick a table, wall, chair or the floor and just be a little obsessive.

If he gets more exercise, this could help the adverse behaviors of licking the floor.

Also, I would like to suggest a new food.  Are you in the USA?
Let me know.. I need to know what access you have to certain brands:

Thanks, Marie

QUESTION: Ok.  Thank you.  I´m from Guatemala, I was feeding him Pro Plan, but it got very expensive down here, thats why I decided to change his food.  Which brand would you recommend me? Is Purina Dog Chow better than Pedigree??  or what else would you recommend me.

Answer
Hi:  the two dog foods you mentioned are ok...not the best quality.
Look for something like :
Wellness Formula
Solid Gold
Innova
Canadide

(I am not sure what you can find at your area pet store...)

You want someting that has very little corn or fillers.
The 5 top ingredients should be meat based if possible.

I wish that I could be more help for you..
