Question
QUESTION: My 5 month old male bullie weighs about 20 lbs. He looks very proportionate
but he seems small for his age. He's my second bully and I don't mind him
being small because many are overweight. He is not skinny or fat but he just
seems little. His weight matches his height. His father was 60 lbs. and mother
was 55 lbs. He wasn't the runt of the litter. He's been checked for health
problems and since we got him at 8 weeks he consistently gained 1-2 lbs per
week. He had a respitory infection for from 8-12 weeks in age, a parasite at
10 weeks that we got rid of and he's had all his vaccinations.

ANSWER: Courtney:  Hello.... I love bullies... So cute and smart, too!

Ok, the vet feels that he is healthy and well.  How about we change his food or add to his foods?  Let me know what you are feeding this boy.  ( brand and amount of food)

Next, let me know if you are giving him any supplements?

I will have some food, supplement and vitamin suggestions for you.
Also, how much exercise is he getting?

Let me know, thanks

QUESTION: He eats prescription diet the c/d formula. He eats 3 times a day a 1/2 to 3/4
a cup. He has to eat this food because he had crystals in his urine 2 weeks
ago and this balances out his acid intake. Also he is on pet tabs supplements
for puppies. He has had a phlem sounding cough since he was 2 months old.
He was bad at first, it completely went away for about 2 months and now I
hear it about 3 times a day. It's a cough and I know they get respiratory
infections. He is on Clavamox for that. He is very playful and he active accept
for when he is sleeping. Overall he seems like a healthy cute bulldog but he is
the size of a 3 month old. I don't mind him being small I just wanted to
confirm that there are no known causes for this! He's so adorable and loving
that I am lucky to have him.

Answer
Hi Again, since he is on the C/D formual diet, I don't think his diet should be changed right now. Also, he has been on antibiotics and that can effect his weight.

As he gets older you may be able to put him on some Solid Gold's Brand - Barking at the moon ....  This could help to put some muscle on him and add a few lbs.  This food could be added to the one he is currently on, with your vets supervision.

Good Luck with all.... by the way, The NuVET Plus is much better than the Pet Tabs... NuVET is All Natural and Human GRADE, too
here is the link:

You would need one per day of NuVET Plus.
