Bulldogs/My one year old english bullie has a rash

Question
Hello
My One year old English Bulldog was at a pet resort last weekend.  When we picked her up four days later she had a terrible rash on the under portion of her neck.  We did include a play in the kiddy pool in her stay.  I am wondering if she became irritated after the water play and then had her collar on while she was wet...I'm not sure..The area is pretty large and she has lost the hair in that area.  She does not seemed to be bothered by it but I am concerned.  She just recently had a bump removed from her leg...and it was fine but stressful.  I'm wondering if there is a cream i could use or a certain shampoo that may help.

Answer
Hi Lynn:
Well, the idea you have sounds correct!  At least I hope this is the problem.  Keep her collar off when she is in the house.  Put some E.M.T. gel or spray on the area... This is like an invisable bandaid for the skin.  Her area can still breath thru this light covering.  Or, you can buy some baby corn starch powder and pat small amounts in the area. ( don't put too much because it will go up her nose)

Also, you may want to give her 100 IU of Vitamin E , 1 per day for a few weeks.  ( reduces inflammation).

If the area is red and has drainage, then I would make a visit to the vet office.  ( she may need antibiotics)

Oh, EMT gel can be found at many pet stores or at RevivalHealth.com
