Question QUESTION: Hi Maria,
I have a 10 month old female english bulldog. I feed her Royal Canin for bulldogs. She weighs about 52lbs and is very active. My question is that she keeps getting "cherry eye" but it pops back into place after a couple of hours or even minutes. She has never had it for more than a day. Since the gland keeps popping back into place on its own, should I just leave it alone or should I have the surgery to "tack" the gland? I notice that it pops out after she has rubbed her face on the carpet or outside playing. I just need advice on what to do.

As for options that are Non surgical? Not many.. You can give it some more time. As your kids gets a little older that area may become stronger and stay put. It is a weakness problem that makes this " cherry " happen in the eye membrane.

Thank you for your advice and I will watch for any changes. If we need to have surgery, then we will do so in the future. As for the pet food, I thought that Royal Canin was a good brand and also it is specifically for bulldogs. What else would you recommend?
