Bulldogs/Limping Bulldog

Question
I have a 10mo old Olde English Bulldog.  A couple of weekends ago, we took it up to the cabin and she was playing with other dogs.  After running up and down a hill a few times, she developed a limp.  A week and a half later, she still has the limp.  Somedays it appears to be better than others.  When it is really bad, she will hold her leg in the air.  I have looked in her paws and checked her leg out to see if I could find something.  We try to keep her as inactive as possible to let her recover, but it seems to be going very slow.  So far with my experience with vets in my area (and my friends' experiences) I haven't found one that I fully trust.  They seem to always try things that don't work, and bill me a ton for the services.  Should I wait a little longer to she if she shows improvement?  Should I see a specialist?  Or should I just take her to the vet for x-rays, etc?  Thank you.

Answer
Hi Steve:  Well she is still a kid and should heal faster than if she was an adult. If she is in good health and NOT overweight, then I would wait another week.  Try to keep her from jumping, if possible.

You can give her 1 (81mg) baby asprin 1-2 x per day.... You can buy the Baby Bayer Brand at 81 mg.  Remember, only give the 81 mg asprin.

You can do this for 3 days.... see if it helps.

If she still favors the leg in 7-10 days, see the vet for an x-ray.
OK????

Make sure you bullie kid is eating a good diet with LOW grains.... Innova, Wellness, Solid Gold, and Canadide are great brands.  She can now be on Adult food... I don't like to give puppy food after they are 9-10 months old.

Also, Call Joan today and order some NuVET Plus - This is one of the BEST vitamin/supplements in the USA.  They will ship all over the world... Mostly by United States Postal Service - Low cost shipping.
