Question
I have a 14 week old British bull dog bitch puppy her is very domineering, she humps me regular and bites me when playing, she doesn't do this to anyone else and is brilliant with children etc.  I have adopted several strategies to try combat this behavior such as ignoring her, then putting her in her crate for ten-15minutes and telling her no etc, but it just isn't working and although she is a puppy she has very sharp teeth and my poor arms and legs are scratched to death, can anyone help me, many thanks becks

Answer
Hi Rebecca:

I understand your pain... You can try a spray bottle of water.  Every time your baby bites or trys to mount your leg, you can give a little spray and say NO.

A puppy learns how to tell whether or not biting is a good thing by how the other pups and mom responds.

When a puppy bites mom and she doesn't like it, she gets up and walks away from the pup.   When a puppy bites its fellow litter mates and they don't like it they give a high pitched yelp, sooner or later the puppy figures that biting people is not good!

You might want to get my friend's book - here is the link - The Human Pack... very good for all new puppy parents.
