Bulldogs - 6 week old pup not walking

Expert: Maria Peppers / The Doggie Chalet Hotel - 7/20/2008

Question
I have a 6 week old EB pup that was raised by bottle for Mom had mastitis.  He has had problems with diarrhea, rattling noices in head, and when trying to walk he does the splits on his back legs. Vet said to exercise, which we do, but how long before he will walk normally?

Answer
Hello Stella:  Oh, poor little English Bullie!  As for the exercise, yes try to get him to play tug-o-war with a rope.  That exercise will strengthen his back legs and hips.  Also, try to get him up and down a few stairs.

Next, as for the diarrhea, give him some canned pumpkin - Pure canned pumpkin - give 1 teaspoon ( 2x per day).  This will help to firm up the stools.  Also, make sure he is on a good food like - Innova for puppies or Wellness Formula for puppies.  After about 7-8 months of age then go to the Adult formula.  ( if he is growing on target).... Sometimes puppy chow/formula will make them grow too rapidly or become overweight.

Also, NuVET Plus will help to strengthen his body!  NuVET is not sold in stores, MOST breeders send the new pups home with a sample and brochure.  Go here and buy some :  ONLY costs about .50 cents per day for NuVET Plus wafer treat.
http://nuvet.com/81098  ( use order code 81098 / They don't sell to the public without a code from a breeder )
NuVET is an excellent Immune System Booster and vitamin.

I sure hope this has helped.  I help thousands of doggies every day.  Many times we try to use all Natural Options in doggie health.

BEST wishes
