Question
I have an old english bulldog, she is about 1 year old. She hurt her elbow about 1 month ago and the vet said that she just stretched all the ligaments out and that she should heal on her own. she is still limping pretty badly and I don't know if she's hurting or just scared to walk on it. DO you know how long it usually takes for them to heal? I know they don't have strong joints. Also, is there anything I can do to make their joints stronger and healthier?

Answer
Brooke,

I always recommend a good quality dog food for bulldogs.  That will help with joints and general health.

As far as for the injury, it sound like it could be a combination of both.  It could still hurt and she may also be careful in walking on the leg.

It could still be healing but by now you should have seen some improvement.

If there has been no improvement or if you don't see some soon, I recommend another visit to your vet just to make sure it isn't something more serious.
