Question
Hi there,
i had a 8 month old bulldog called Alfie, he has just recently died which was sudden! Me and my partner live in Tenerife so as U can imagine the weather is hot.  Alfie passed away in his sleep, but when we gave him to the vets for a autopsy they told us that his intestines were twisted and bruised! can you please help me understand how and why this could of happened?
Stacey

Answer
Stacey,

Sorry to hear of your loss.  I know how hard it is to lose a pet.

Twisted stomach and intestines happens when a dog drinks or eats very quickly.  If you bulldog was over heated and then drank a lot of water to cool down, it could have caused that to happen.  I don't think you could have done anything prevent this from happening.
