Question
Hello,

My 4 year old Bulldog Ruby seems to be having issues with her skin itching. This started about 2 weeks ago. She has never had fleas but I did find "1" on her about the time the itching started? I gave her a bath and misted her with Adams plus? I have'nt found any other signs of fleas but in the meantime she is scratching until she bleeds. I hate seeing her like this! I've put Neosporin on the raw areas but now she's losing her hair where the scabs are healing? What can I do? She's never hads any issues with her skin. The vet has always said that she has a beautiful coat. I have feed her Iams for the last 4 years, so no change to diet? She is on "0" meds. Help!!

Hi Suzanne and Ruby, Sounds like some Flea bite dermatitis.... VERY common and can UPSET her skin for months after just a few bites.
Here are some things to give her relief and protection from Future fleas :

Please buy some pure garlic powder - the kind in the cooking section of the store ( herbs and baking area)  Place just a dash or 1/8th of a teaspoon per day in the dog's food - mix.
Small amounts of Garlic powder are very safe and helps to Heal the skin and KEEP the fleas away.
Make sure you get garlic powder and NOT the Garlic SALT....
Remember - only a small amount per day will do the trick.  MOST dogs love the taste.
