Question
Hi I’m in Australia I have a 11week old male British bulldog and I’m wondering on your option about what I’m feeding him I’ve got him on royal canin maxi(puppy food) for large dogs 26-44kg mature weight and also feed him about 4-6 chicken necks a week. I’ve been told that I should leave him on the large food but also have been told to put him on royal canin medium there are other brands that I have found here which are named - Advance, Iams, science diet, ukanuba (spell check hehehehe). I have some of your msg to others but some brands that you recommend are not available here well I have not found. Thanks for your help.

Answer
Hi New puppy parent:  Australia seems to have a limited amount of dog foods ..... I looked at the Advance Brand - not too good!  None of the ones you listed are Super wonderful, they are average brands in my book.  Yes, the Royal Canine is the best of the 4 your listed.  Keep him on the large breed pup food until 12 months and then switch to the adult food.  ( some folks switch at 10 months to the adult food)---- work with your vet on this.

The 4 chicken necks per week is enough for him.  I am not a big fan of raw but the chicken necks are fine.  You may want to join some of the Yahoo groups for Raw Feeders - if you need more info on this type of feeding.

good luck with the new baby!
