Question
Hello,

so today i took my 15 month english bulldog to my vet because my bully appeared to be suffering from a very swollen right ear, and seemed a bit sick. It turns out he has a fever, and has aural hematoma/abscess.... my vet said that there was a lot of pus cells within the ear, and lot sof blood was building up. anyways, he decided it would be best to keep my bully for 2 nights at the veterinary hospital, as well as perform surgery on the ear... including all costs, ranging from fine needle aspirate/cytology/aerobic and anaerobic bacterial culture and sensitivity/several intravenous related costs (totalling over 500 alone)/surgery/anasthetics and post operative injection, my total bill is $2200...

i have paid over $9000 in vet bills since getting my english bulldog... and i paid $2700 for the puppy from a breeder that had great reviews and really seemed like an a+ breeder...

am i getting ripped off by my vet? or is this $2200 tag appropriate for all the stuff involved/the problem that my dog is facing.

im just afraid that if anymore of these big bills pops up, i wont be able to keep the dog, because i am a student and considering this dog has alreayd taken $12000 out of my pocket, im just very concerned.

any advice or any opinions you could share, i would greatly appreciate!

Hi Sean and bullie kid!  Wow, I am so sorry about all the problems with your bullie kid.  FYI - bulldogs do have many, many medical problems and allergy problems.  OK, so now that you know that, you can understand why this kid is costing so much.
YOU wouldn't believe how many bulldogs ( all kinds of bullies ) are my clients.
*** I follow 100s of bulldog Pet parents each month on the dog's condition and progress.

Could this have been prevented?  YES, most of my bullie pet parents find great results with proper feeding and supplements.
WILL your VET tell you how to feed and give supplements ???? NO

They will not make much money if dogs get healthy and take supplements, oils and great holistic foods...Right?

So, after your baby is better ///// Let's talk about feeding and add some supplements and a probiotic to his diet.
I would love to  help you......

We can put a DENT in future medical bills with supplements.
Good Nutrition is the key for any bullie.

Keep me posted and BEST wishes
