Question
I have recently got a bulldog bitch she is just over 2 years old.  Her previous owner told me that she had an fast metabolism and he fed her on Iams dry puppy food so that she was getting what she needed.  She is not a large dog and does not have any health problems but i have noticed that she is just picking at the Iams puppy food.  I sprinkled some grated cheese on top the other day and she loved it.  Can i change her food and is it ok to give her cheese?  also what other food can i feed her without it harming her?  Thanks, Heather

Answer
Heather,

Iams is a good dog food but at 2 years of age, I would not give puppy food unless she is pregnant.  We feed Iams Mini Chunk dog food.

I would not add anything to her food.  Dog food is formulated to have all the nutrition that a dog needs.

Added cheese or other food may cause extra weight and that is something you don't want in a bulldog.
