I have a 5 month old, 38lb english bulldog. His eye area stays constantly wet and it stinks, smells kind of sour. His breath or slobber also stinks. Is there anything I can do to help get rid of the smell? This is my first bulldog. Also, does he sound overweight for his age? His parents were 40lbs and 45lbs.

You should try a different puppy food.  If you don't notice a change, you should have your bulldog checked out by a vet.  In fact, you should go ahead and make your vet appointment.  A bad smell is not normal and could be something serious.
