Question
Hello, my name is Misty. We have a bulldog and he will be a year old next week. My b/f just started getting visitation of his 5 year old daughter. She lives in another state so we get her very spratic. last week was our 1st visit and when she came in the dog kept jumping on her and wouldn't leave her alone, she is very afraid of him. He wouldn't stop we tried to make him mind but he wouldn't listen, he was just rowdy. We tried to have him fixed about 6 months ago and he got sick at the vet and they told us they couldn't do it because he kept getting sick. my question is, is it too late to get him fixed and is the older he gets there will be more risks envolve? Will this calm him down if we get him fixed?
Also, we have to take him to the vet about a month ago to get his anal glands drained, how often will we have to take him to get this done

Answer
Hello Misty - Get this boy a special time-out place for when the little girl arrives.  ( crate?) - Take him to her on a leash and try to get control of him.... YOU will need to work with him because he is happy and still a pup for another 8 months.  ( 19 months or so  for bullies)

Yes, you can get him neutered now or in the near future.  He won't calm down until 19 months or even 24 months... He is just a big Kid.

If he was on a grain free food and supplements / then you won't have troubles with the Anal glands.
Foods that are full of corn and junk fillers give bullies a bunch of troubles with the anal glands...

Try this:

Innova EVO, Wellness Core or Merrick Grain Free - all sold at the local pet store:  YOU FEED LESS of this and the poops are smaller...
Much better food for any bullie kid.
Also, ONE NuVET wafer per day / Natural Canine Vitamin...
