hi - we have a 6 month old english bulldog who has started to smell in "that" area....  we are thinking maybe his anal glands need squeezed or emptied, but wonder how often this needs/should be done?  also - do you know how much this should cost - at vet or groomer?  is it hard to do ourselves?

Not all bulldogs (or dogs in general) need to have their anal glands cleaned out.  We have never had a dog that needed it.

I suggest going to a vet and they can show you how to do it, if it needs done again.  Hopefully you will never have to have it done again.

The cost will depend on the area you live.  Our vet cost here are very reasonable.  I have heard that vet cost in cities can be very high.  You  may want to check for a country vet.
