Question
Our 7 year old English Bulldog is in heat and it is extremely heavy.  It has been 4 days now and it is just getting worse.  She is drinking allot more than usual also.  It's never been close to being this bad before.  Could something else be wrong?  She's never had any health problems before.  My husband thought that the older she got the lighter it would be and less frequent.  Is there a certain age that it will stop?

Hi Cynthia - Call the vet in the morning - they can give her a hormone shot to lessen all the bleeding.  Also, she may need some hormone therapy for the new problem.
