Question
We had been boarding our bulldog at Happy Paws, where they let the dogs run free and play with each other. Our bulldog loved going there. She usually just spent the day or a couple of nights, but in May, she spent a week. When we picked her up after her week there, she could not put any weight on her right front leg. When we asked what happened, the response was “I don’t know.”

The limp would come and go. After her tail amputation surgery, we asked the vet to look at the leg. She spent a lot of time feeling, turning and twisting the leg. The dog did not cry out, but I did! The vet did not think that anything was broken, but thought that a tendon or muscle coould be pulled. She put our bulldog on RIMADYL for one week and SYNOVI G3 CHEWS – two a day for the time being.

The RIMADYL did help, but once she went off the meds, the limp came back.  The limp is most noticeable after she has been lying down. It does not get in the way of her walking or playing, but she is only two years old and I would hate to see this get worse.
Do you have any ideas what it could be?

 Hi Mom to little bulldog.... Yes, it may be an ACL injury ( bruised)???  - This will not show up on an x-ray if it is just a slight injury.  I am sure there is inflammation but the Rimadyl is a good Short term drug only.

1.  *rest/  No runs or jumps for at least 2 weeks ( Leash walks )

I sure hope you take my advice -  This is a common problem and rest plus supplements can help 90 to 100% , just make her rest the area.
I know REST is hard for any dog..... but make her try to rest.
