Hi Maria,
We have just adopted a 3 year old bulldog who was attacked by a larger female dog at his previous home.  It is obvious that this little guy almost died and has come a long way to where he is today.  Right now he seems to be pain free on his legs even though he has a horrible wound still healing on one of them.  
The reason I am contacting is that we have noticed he has weak feet and doesn’t want to walk on dirt or rocks.  I checked his paws and he has mostly white paws with sections that are calloused with black dry spots.  Bubba does have black spots on his coat though.
I don’t know if he has burns, an infection, something from his previous attack or if his breed has problems?  He’s a tough guy and I’m sure that I worry more than he does.

Let's get some Bag Balm onto the paws daily - it will help to strengthen up the paw pads.  The Rescue dogs use it in Alaska to protect and heal the paw pads.  BAG Balm is great for  wound healing, too.   You can wash the wound with Witch Hazel, on a cotton pad and then apply some bag balm to the open spot.  ( If not better in 3-5 days, you may want to see the local vet)

AS for the BAG Balm - you can find it in the BABY Department near diapers and wipes.
AS for Witch Hazel - CVS or Walgreen's - near the peroxide and other wound treatments.
