Question
Hello!  I have two AB's.  The eldest, Liberty, was just diagnosed as having to have ExtraCapsulary surgery.  She has had a slight limp for the past two weeks and I took her for X-rays and the vet says that she ruptured her ACL and she has arthritis in her knees and hips.... and here we are about to have the surgery on Friday.  Am I doing the right thing?  She will be 8 in August.  I feed her the basic recipe Blue Buffalo food and normally she does not have to take meds.  The vet says that if we don't have the surgery that she will grow bone spurs and that they along with the arthritis will be painful for her.  What are your thoughts?

Alternatives to ACL surgery;  Hi Lisa and Liberty.....  If it was my dog, I would give her some rest and try a more natural approach.  They can still have arthritis and problems even after a repair.  SEE my posts -
