Question
QUESTION: Hello, we have an English bulldog, he is two years old. About six months ago his skin on his sides started turning black and has lost his hair completely in these areas which are very big. We have taken him to the vet several times and he has given him a steroid shot
and or an antiimflamitory shot and say that
it is just some sort
of skin disease that we have to deal with. What is this, and is there anything we can do for our baby he is our pride and joy!!

ANSWER: Misty; I have some help for you and your English bulldog.
Your boy may have Black Skin Disease -  also, sometimes referred to as Alopecia X.
( this means "fur loss" of unknown reasons...)

You can try to re-build his immune system to help repair the fur loss.  Also, keep him out of the direct sun if possible.  When a bullie is out in the sun, it is very important to gently apply sun screen to any exposed areas of skin.  ( areas with the fur loss)

(** the NuVET helps to re-grow fur....must give long term / Safe and Natural)

My suggestions are:

Give 1 1/2 NuVETS per day - This is an immune system booster and allergy blaster
Call for your 60 day trial offer :  1-800-474-7044
Tell them MARIE ( of ASK the VET Nurse is working with you)
NuVET is holistic and not sold in stores

Next - give 1000mg of Vitamin C per day - long term.... ( hide in a pill pocket)

Also, give 1 tablespoon of PURE Salmon oil -  mix well into the food-  give Daily

What are you feeding for food ?  Brand and Flavor???
Let me know if you want some suggestions on foods to feed.

Hope that we get your bullie better?

QUESTION: We feed him beneful dog food. I was reading on the Internet that hypothyroidism causes black spots and Hair loss as well do you think this could be a possibility. And maybe we should make an apointment with the vet to have his thyroid checked

Answer
Hi - One of the first things the Vet should have done was check his blood and thryoid levels.  Call and see what blood work they did run on this baby????
Also, I would change the food slowly to a better brand:
You can do a 50/50 mix of your food and a new food for 2 weeks.
After 2-3 weeks, change over to the new food:

here are some to look for:
Merrick ; Wellness ( Simple MIX) ; Cadidae grain-free dog food; Innova ;
( the current brand you use has too much corn and other low cost fillers)

HOPE that I have helped you!
