Question
I have a 17 month old american bulldog.  He is chewing his paws and licking himself till he bleeds with no end in sight. He also has red bummps alon  his underside. The last month he has been losing his hair.  He has lost alot and its still going. He has been to the vet and has been on antibiotics for six weeks and ketaconezol for three weeks with no results(just finished).  He was on evangers pheasant and brown rice I recently switched him to TASTE OF THE WILD: Pacific Stream Canine Formula with Smoked Salmon.  He has eaten it for two weeks so far.  He is also taking AUNT JENNIES's Fish oil omega 3 and itch buster with immune boosting vitamin c.  I want to wait and see if the food helps. But if he keeeps losing his hair its gonna be gone.  I can't afford to keep going to the vet with no results.  I forgot to mention that I have already tried a whole cycle of Nuvet that did not help at all.  I got off of it because of the brewers yeast.  He has also tried raw diet that did not work either.  Any suggestions I hate watching hum suffer. Thanks.

Answer
Grant, Did you give him at least 3 months of the NuVET?  Some dogs need at least 90 days... Also, if he is this bad, you may want to see another vet.
I wonder if he has mange mites?  You can NOT see them with the human eye.  Did the vet scrape a little skin and look under a microscope???? He could have mange as there are very many.
Also, he could have an auto-immune problem ...
I know you don't want to spend more money but a Second opinion is in order at another Vet.

Sounds more serious than a food change over.  I am sure there is a fungus or mite on your boy.
ONLY a skin scrape or even culture will give you the answers you need.

Sorry, you need more help from a licensed Vet.....

BEST wishes to you***  I will keep my "PAWS crossed" for you!!!!
