QuestionQUESTION: Hi, I have a 2.5 yrs old male english bulldog, Otto, with bladder stones problem.
A year ago he had surgery to remove 2 stones, and since then he has been eating his special food (urinary from Royal Canin, Hills U/D, Hills C/D, etc), he was great, stones controlled until last week when he urinated with blood. Big surprise, he has now 2 stones (5 mn and 6 mn), and the vet recommendation is surgery. My poor Otto in his short life has already 4 surgeries, being the last one the stones removal. It was the worst in terms of time of recuperation, and I would like to avoid surgery as long as I can.
The vets did not made the test of the stones that were removed, but they believe is calcium oxalate.
Do you know any natural treatment that could help reduce the stones to a minimum? A friend of mine once told me that celery extract could help... what do you think?
Thanks so much!!
ANSWER: Hi Bettina, Poor Otto! Don't know about the celery extract. Do you want the home-cooking recipe? It's an alternative to Hill's Rx or the Royal Canin Urinary:
???
Let me know if you can home cook.
