Hello, My English Bulldog is 7 y/o. For the past several months I have noticed his spine becoming very prominent and arched. He is breathing very funny. Different than usual. He almost sound like an asthmatic. He starts this strange breathing every evening and once I put on the AC he calms down.
He is up to date on all shots. On no medication. Recently had a complete physical and everything is normal. He is eating normal and wants to play but becomes winded and we have to stop. He becomes winded when we go for a walk.
This is all very very upsetting to me and I don't want to think that his end is near. He is truly the light of my life.

Hi Shirley,  Your English Bulldog should have more years!  Talk to the Vet about getting some blood work done.  Just to make sure the Body's systems are all in order.  Just have them check with a Complete blood count and Thryoid check.

You may need to shorten his walks and be careful in the heat.  Sometimes the humidity is the main problem with a bulldog's breathing.  ( The air gets heavy)
