QUESTION: Hi Marie,  

You have answered questions in the past.  I have an English Bulldog puppy with multiple issues - hypoplastic trachea, addison's, etc.  I have been giving him garlic, Vitamin C, NuVet Powder Plus, and salmon oil.  However, my husband bought more Vitamin C and I do not remember how many milligrams I was giving my dog.  Can you please give my your recommendation again?

ANSWER: Hi Lila, So glad you are following my advice!  YOUR dosage of C ,( ESTER C ONLY )  is about 500 mg per day --- any more can cause loose stools.

QUESTION: Hi Marie,

My English bulldog is now 11 months old.  When we brought him home he had pneumonia.  He came home from the vet eating gruel.  Since then, I have blended his food.  He seems to be wanting regular dry food now.  I have asked for the NuVet wafers for my next delivery.  My question is about the garlic.  I have been giving him 1/8 teaspoon each day.  Is there a way to equate that to a garlic vitamin?  Also, what is the difference between Ester C and regular vitamin C?

Hi, Yes, I remember this little one..   Garlic is tricky and you need to be careful.  I would continue with the small amounts of powder for a few months longer.
Don't give Regular C -  Ester C is much better and easy to digest.  ( If your Hubby purchased regular C, you take it... it's good for you)  

What food are you considering feeding?  Brand?
