Burlington, Vermont/immigrating

Question
Hello, I am seeking help and advice for me and my Fiance. We both live and work in the UK and have a 2yr old son, we are hoping to move to Burlington VT in the future to raise our son, but obviously need to apply for work visa etc. and are unsure of what the steps are we need to take and when and how long they are likely to take! We both work in the banking industry and my Fiance is looking to start a plumbing course here so by the time we are likely to move ( if accepted) he can pretty much start work where possible.
Please would you be so kind to give me a little bit of advice on how we should get things started or where i need to turn for other info etc.

Thank you so much

While this is far outside my area of expertise, I think these resources (below) should point you in the right direction.

In Burlington Vermont, I help run a small business group, which helps gather and screen referral business for it's members - and we've presently got a vacancy for a plumber. And while we have a terrific mortgage banker, we're also actively looking for a general banker, representing a local bank or credit union. I'll provide details about this business group if you like. The easiest thing may be to simply email me.

Here's the best immigration link I can find, which may help get you started:
